Our Story
Our Foundation was started in memory of our daughter, Arianna Lugo. Arianna was born with left sided CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She earned her wings in 2013 and will forever live through this foundation. The co-founder and President Angela Turse (Arianna's aunt) had a vision to keep her memory alive. With the help of her family Arianna's CDH Foundation was created.
Our Mission
To raise awareness while financially assisting and connecting with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia families in memory of Arianna Lugo.
What is CDH?
CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) is a birth defect that occurs in utero when an unborn child’s diaphragm fails to form. The diaphragm separates the abdomen from the chest. When CDH occurs the organs in the abdomen protrude into the chest cavity resulting in underdeveloped lungs & many complications. About 1600 babies are diagnosed each year in the US alone & there is a 50% chance of survival rate. For more information about CDH please visit www.CDHI.org
